Cameron and Anna’s wedding at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh was the perfect celebration of love, nature, and joy. As an Edinburgh-based wedding photographer, I couldn’t have asked for a better day to capture—beautiful weather, an incredible couple, and one of the city’s most breathtaking venues. With my unobtrusive and relaxed approach, I was able to blend into the background and document the story of their day as it naturally unfolded.
The Ceremony at John Muir Grove
The couple exchanged their vows in John Muir Grove, a stunning outdoor setting surrounded by towering trees. The atmosphere was serene, yet full of emotion, as friends and family gathered beneath the canopy of green. With the sun streaming through the leaves, it was the perfect setting for such a heartfelt ceremony.
A Stroll by Caledonian Hall
After the ceremony, we took a relaxed stroll close to Caledonian Hall. This quiet moment together gave Cameron and Anna the chance to soak everything in, while I captured some of my favourite portraits of the day. With no pressure, no posing—just the two of them walking, laughing, and enjoying being newly married—the images beautifully reflect their personalities and connection.
Speeches and Meal at Caledonian Hall
Guests then gathered in the elegant Caledonian Hall for speeches and a delicious meal. The laughter, happy tears, and toasts created such a warm atmosphere, and I focused on capturing all the little moments in between—glances, smiles, and reactions that really bring the story of the day to life.
A Piper’s Procession to the Arboretum & John Hope Gateway
One of the most memorable highlights came after the meal, when a guest led the entire wedding party on the bagpipes from Caledonian Hall to the Arboretum and John Hope Gateway. It was an incredible walk through the gardens—full of colour, movement, and excitement—and an amazing opportunity for candid photographs as everyone made their way to the evening celebrations.
Evening Party & Cake Cutting
The celebrations continued at the Arboretum and John Hope Gateway, where the couple cut their cake and the party got underway. With music, dancing, and plenty of energy, the atmosphere was electric. As always, I kept my coverage relaxed and natural, capturing the fun as it unfolded—without ever getting in the way.
